The answer before the background

Our recommendation

The main 20 minutes till dawn modes are a normal 20-minute survival run, a shorter 10-minute Quickplay option, Endless or extended play where available, and Darkness difficulty levels from 0 through 15 on the Steam achievement path. Darkness is a difficulty modifier, not an account level. Temple, Kingdom, Kingsfall, Ninja Trial, Pumpkin Patch and similar searches can refer to mobile maps or events, so their enemies and rewards should not be merged into the Steam mode list without verification.

Raise difficulty only after identifying the last clear's margin

A clear at Darkness 0 proves that the package can complete the base structure, not that it is ready for Darkness 15. Record how early crowd control became reliable, whether bosses were defeated with time to spare, and which defensive layer remained unused. Raise the difficulty one useful step, then change only the weakness that appears. Permanent runes also matter: comparing a new account with a developed one can make the same character and weapon look like different tiers.

The official achievement ledger recognizes Sunrise, specific Darkness milestones and mastery challenges. That makes it a better fixed checklist than a community claim about maximum account level. A character may reach a run level through experience, a weapon may reach an evolution threshold, and the account may purchase runes; those are distinct progress measures. A search for max level should name which measure it means.

A world-record claim needs a reproducible ruleset

  • Record platform, public version, mode, map, Darkness and permanent rune state.
  • State whether the result is time survived, score, kills, level or another metric.
  • Preserve an uncut result screen or run video when presenting a leaderboard-level claim.
  • Separate stable runs from beta, mods or mobile events instead of putting them on one table.
  • Check whether an official leaderboard exists for the exact mode before calling a community screenshot a world record.

Common questions

How long is a normal run?

The standard target is 20 minutes. Quickplay is a shorter 10-minute format, while Endless or post-win behavior must be checked in the current edition.

What is the highest Darkness level?

The official Steam achievement ledger recognizes progression through Darkness 15.

Is Temple a Steam map?

Temple and several other named areas appear in mobile-facing searches. Verify the installed edition rather than adding the name to the stable Steam list automatically.

What is the 20 Minutes Till Dawn world record?

There is no single universal record across modes and editions. A defensible claim must identify metric, platform, version, mode, Darkness and proof.

What we checked

Official listings establish current availability and product facts. Community pages are used for mechanics and build history, then labeled separately.
