Current answer

What players need to know now.

Halls of Torment is Chasing Carrots' single-player horde-survival action RPG. A run combines one hero's main weapon with abilities, traits and retrieved equipment, while quests unlock characters, marks, potions, items, stages and endgame systems. The original PC game left Early Access on September 24, 2024; official Premium and free mobile editions now coexist, and official PS5 and Xbox Series editions launched October 28, 2025. Those products must be identified before a build or unlock answer is reused.

First clears

Six low-regret decisions

  1. 1

Use the quest boards as a progression map instead of grinding an unnamed goal.

  2. 2

Keep one attack for crowd coverage and another plan for elites or the Lord.

  3. 3

Unlock the Wellkeeper, then retrieve equipment that improves several future runs.

  4. 4

Treat an ability, its traits and its upgrades as one package rather than collecting six unrelated attacks.

  5. 5

Use the installed edition as authority: Steam, Premium mobile and free mobile do not share one economy or content table.

  6. 6

Label every DLC, patch and community mechanic claim with a date and source.

Editorial scope

Quest Meridian checks availability, release dates and shipped updates against platform-owner stores and Chasing Carrots announcements. Detailed mechanics use the current client and a dated community wiki as a secondary reference. We do not claim unperformed hands-on tests, merge the free mobile adaptation with the original game, distribute modified files or invent codes and currencies from search phrases.
