Fast answer
The answer before the background
Halls of torment potions are a mid-game choice-control system unlocked through the Cupbearer. The community reference lists 15 ingredients used to open potion types and explains that an ingredient herb spawns in a specific Hall but at a random position. Search the correct Hall, use the Gatherer's Charm to point toward remaining herbs, and record which ingredient was permanently collected instead of following a screenshot as an exact coordinate.
Unlock route
Open the service before farming a full ingredient list
The Cupbearer introduces potion brewing at camp. Strong Wine is the starting reference in the community system, while other potion functions require their ingredients. If the camp does not show the expected option, verify the prerequisite quest and current edition before repeating the same Hall.
Potions manipulate choices rather than simply adding another damage source. Rerolls replace an offer; memory-style behavior can preserve important traits; other bottles affect selections under their stated rules. Spend them where the branch changes the build, especially at ability-upgrade or character-trait milestones, rather than consuming every bottle on an ordinary early level.
Herb search
The Hall is the coordinate; the exact tile is not
| Clue | What it proves | What it does not prove |
|---|---|---|
| Ingredient list | Which potion remains locked | The current herb's precise map position. |
| Hall assignment | Where that ingredient can spawn | A permanent direction from the entrance. |
| Gatherer's Charm | Guidance toward a relevant collectible | That the shortest safe route ignores enemies. |
| Old video | A successful historical route | The same random position or current patch behavior. |
| Collected state | That herb should leave the remaining pool | That every platform synced the same save. |
Secrets and NPCs
Treat every secret as a stage-specific interaction
Well, Wellkeeper, pendant, ivory, yellow-crystal and Viaduct-secret searches can refer to different quests, item clues or stage objects. Name the stage, prerequisite and visible objective before giving directions. A marker that appears only after a quest should not be presented as a hidden universal map icon.
When a secret fails, check Hall, Normal or Agony mode, installed DLC, quest board, character requirement and whether the object was already collected. Preserve screenshots of the objective text and map icons. That evidence is more useful than changing system time, editing a save or installing a supposed all-secrets package.
FAQ
Common questions
Are herb locations fixed?
The ingredient belongs to a specific Hall, but its position within that Hall is randomized according to the community mechanics reference.
What does Gatherer's Charm do?
It helps point the player toward remaining herbs or relevant collectibles; it does not turn a random spawn into a permanent coordinate.
Why can I not find an ingredient?
Verify the correct Hall, prerequisite, mode and whether it has already been permanently collected on that save.
Should I copy a map screenshot?
Use it to understand landmarks, not as proof of the exact current spawn position.
