Fast answer
The answer before the background
Halls of torment quests are the game's permanent progression ledger: they can unlock heroes, marks, abilities, items, traits, stages and camp services. They are not identical to platform achievements. Steam currently displays 500 achievements, while the official Boglands announcement says its many new quests do not reoccur as Steam achievements. For any named challenge, copy the exact wording, required source, threshold, Hall and reward before designing the run.
Completion ledger
Track four fields for every challenge
| Field | Record | Common mistake |
|---|---|---|
| Objective | Exact verb, target and number | Treating total damage as damage from the required source. |
| Context | Hero, Hall, mode, DLC and artifacts | Attempting a DLC or Agony condition in the wrong environment. |
| Reward | Character, trait, item, mark or progression flag | Grinding after the reward already entered the pool. |
| Platform | In-game quest, Steam achievement, Xbox achievement or PS5 trophy | Assuming counts and names are identical. |
| Version | Patch and date | Following a threshold that changed. |
Named objectives
Translate colorful titles into observable actions
One Man Show, Pacifist, Wallflower, Pure Strength, Guided by the Wind, Quick Hands, Knowledge Collector, Juggernaut, Technician and similar phrases are labels, not complete instructions. Open the quest detail and identify whether the counter measures kills, hits, critical behavior, survival, ability upgrades, movement or a named enemy. Keep the counter visible when possible.
For kill totals such as 25,000 or 50,666 enemies, verify whether the condition belongs to one run, cumulative progression, a stage trigger or an achievement. Boglands officially uses 25,000 defeated enemies to summon its Lord, but that does not make every similarly worded challenge the same event. Do not round or reinterpret punctuation without checking the current quest card.
Unlock planning
Complete prerequisite chains instead of farming the final name
A hero, mark or stage unlock can depend on earlier quest boards, the outro, Agony progress or DLC ownership. If Bard, Sage, Sorceress, Crone, Alchemist, Boglands, Vault or marks remain unavailable, inspect the preceding chapters and content license before repeating the last visible condition. A guide should present the chain, not only the final step.
When a quest appears stuck, confirm that the correct damage source receives credit and that an effect is not being counted as direct damage. Remove unrelated sources if they steal the final hit, reproduce a small portion of the counter, then restart only after preserving the save. If the counter still fails, compare official patch notes and report the exact version rather than editing completion data.
FAQ
Common questions
Are all quests Steam achievements?
No. The official Boglands announcement explicitly says its new quests do not reoccur as Steam achievements.
How many Steam achievements are listed?
The official Steam store displayed 500 when reviewed on August 4, 2026; other platforms and future updates can differ.
Why is a damage quest not progressing?
Verify the exact required source and whether direct hits, status effects, summons or item damage are counted separately.
Do I need DLC for every quest?
No, but Boglands-specific boards, heroes and mechanics require that paid content and should be labeled.
