Fast answer
The answer before the background
The verified native Windows route is Ancient Gods on Steam, app 1716940, released August 3, 2022 after Early Access began November 19, 2021. Steam lists single-player, 19 achievements, Steam Cloud and a paid license. Apple also lists its mobile app as compatible with Apple-silicon Macs running macOS 12 or later, while warning that it is not verified for macOS. These are different distribution routes; the official pages do not promise shared purchases, saves, roster or patch parity.
Platform map
Choose the official route for the computer
| Computer | Verified route | Boundary |
|---|---|---|
| Windows | Steam app 1716940 | Paid PC product with Steam Cloud and achievements. |
| Apple-silicon Mac | Apple mobile app compatibility | Requires macOS 12 and M1+; Apple says not verified for macOS. |
| Intel Mac | No current native route verified | The Apple listing specifically requires Apple silicon. |
| Linux | No native first-party build listed | Proton or compatibility reports are community tests. |
| Chromebook / emulator | Android compatibility depends on device/store | An emulator is not a separate Hexpion PC release. |
Steam scope
Do not use mobile patch notes as a PC changelog
The Steam product describes 30+ characters, while current mobile stores say 50+. Steam's page also uses a paid model, whereas mobile is free with ads and in-app purchases. These differences are enough to require a platform label on roster, economy, code and version answers.
Steam Cloud indicates a supported Steam save feature; it does not prove that an Android or Apple account can be imported. Before buying or moving devices, check the current client and Hexpion support rather than assuming that the word Cloud means cross-platform transfer.
PC checklist
Verify before paying or troubleshooting
- Open Steam app 1716940 and confirm Hexpion as developer and publisher.
- Compare the listed Windows requirements with the current machine and Steam client requirements.
- Check whether the desired mobile character, mode or artifact exists in the PC client.
- Keep Steam and mobile receipts separate; ownership on one store does not grant another store license.
- Back up through the supported platform before testing compatibility layers or moving local files.
Mac and compatibility
Compatible is not the same as verified
Apple currently lists the iPhone/iPad product for M1-or-later Macs with macOS 12 or later, but the storefront banner says it has not been verified for macOS. Input, window behavior and purchases may therefore behave like the mobile app rather than a native desktop edition.
For Steam Deck or Linux, use current community reports as test leads only. Record device, operating-system version, compatibility layer, game build, controls and save behavior. Do not present one successful launch as an official support promise.
FAQ
Common questions
Is Ancient Gods on PC?

Can I play it on Mac?
Apple lists the mobile app for M1+ Macs on macOS 12+, but also says the app is not verified for macOS.
