The answer before the background
A defensible Cup Heroes ranked list cannot order every hero, armor set, weapon, pet and platform in one permanent column. Version 4.0.1 introduced a deckbuilding system with more than 450 cards, and version 4.1.1 continued the Ranked rollout. The best character is therefore the one whose current ability, available card pool, gear triggers and investment solve the tested mode consistently. Rank clear reliability, boss conversion, survival and cost separately, and label every result with platform, version and mode.

Evidence rule
Keep named searches without inventing kits
Players search for Nova perks, Raven, Jester, Rickie, Cowboy and many other names. Those searches deserve a useful answer, but a search phrase is not proof of a current ability or numerical value. Before publishing a named rank, record the current in-game tooltip, unlock state, gear, cards, mode and at least three comparable attempts. If that evidence is missing, mark the entry unverified rather than filling the gap from an old video title.
First-party storefront descriptions safely identify Knight Cup and Ninja Cup as examples of characters with distinct abilities. They do not provide a complete current roster or official tier order. Our table therefore describes the testing method and does not pretend that a 2025 community list is a 2026 official ranking.
Gear and pets
Rank a trigger inside a build
- Read the exact trigger and count how often the chosen hero can activate it in the target mode.
- Compare equal upgrade levels; rarity is not a substitute for activation frequency.
- Separate armor, weapon, pet and barracks lists because each answers a different system question.
- Do not carry a mobile gear result into Xbox, PlayStation or Switch without checking the console client.
- Retest after a patch that changes cards, hero behavior, gear triggers or progression access.
Publishable tier
Use confidence labels on every row
A final tier table should show S, A or B only after the evaluation fields are complete. Add Tested when the exact version and setup were reproduced, Provisional when the tooltip is current but the sample is small, and Historical when the source predates the deckbuilding revision. This prevents a visually confident list from hiding weak evidence.
A Reddit or wiki tier list can suggest what to test next, but it is not the final authority. When two lists disagree, compare their platform, date, investment and mode before deciding that one is wrong. Different constraints can produce legitimately different winners.
