Kingdom Rush guide
The original Kingdom Rush campaign, with durable questions around towers, heroes, stars, upgrades, challenges, and individual stage solutions.
Current answer
What players need to know now.
Kingdom Rush is easiest to progress when the four basic tower families have distinct jobs: barracks hold enemies, artillery clears groups, mages answer armor, and archers provide efficient coverage. Spend stars on upgrades that support the towers used across many maps, then change the lane plan for flying units, armor, and bosses instead of searching for one universal layout. This kingdom rush guide gives you the orientation first; open a focused ranking, code, build, database, or stage guide when you need that specific answer.

Core systems
The decisions that shape Kingdom Rush progression.
| System | What it controls | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Tower families | Cover blocking, area damage, armor, and efficient range. | Place by enemy job and map geometry, not by one tier list. |
| Heroes | Move between lanes and repair weak points. | Choose a role that complements the tower plan. |
| Stars | Unlock permanent spell and tower improvements. | Fund broadly useful breakpoints before narrow bonuses. |
| Challenges | Change lives, waves, and upgrade restrictions. | Treat Iron and Heroic modes as separate puzzles. |
Low-regret start
Five useful Kingdom Rush starting rules.
- 1
Inspect every entrance, exit, and flying route before spending the first gold.
- 2
Build enough barracks control for the main choke, then cover it with area or armor-specific damage.
- 3
Keep Rain of Fire and reinforcements for a defined failure point instead of using them on cooldown.
- 4
Upgrade a working position before opening several weak positions with no clear job.
- 5
When a stage fails, identify the leaking enemy type and change only the tower or timing that answers it.
This hub covers the first Kingdom Rush game. Frontiers, Origins, Vengeance, and Alliance have separate hubs so their towers, heroes, maps, and balance are never mixed together.
