Give each hero a different battlefield job
- Pair a durable holder with a ranged or area-damage partner when one choke receives most of the wave.
- Use movement speed and reach when two entrances require frequent transfers; raw damage is wasted if the hero arrives late.
- Choose control for fast, shielded or clustered enemies only after the towers already provide reliable damage.
- Let Flak earn experience in the real firing zone instead of parking him where only a few enemies pass.

Outplay's anniversary post names Avalanche and Gravitas as event-era additions, while the community roster records Flak, Roxie, Skybolt, Cinder, Oracle, Surge, Scorch, Barrage, Avalanche and Gravitas. That community list is useful for navigation, but availability, costs and balance should be verified in the live Hero Barracks before a purchase.
A hero tier list also changes with level and unlocked abilities. A low-level premium hero may not outperform an experienced Flak in the exact lane where Flak has already learned the timing. Record the hero level, ability unlocks, campaign stage and partner when comparing results; otherwise the ranking cannot be reproduced.
If the first leak is caused by the wrong tower damage type, buying a hero is not the first fix. Correct the defense matchup, then use heroes to reinforce the remaining weakness.
