Fast answer
The answer before the background
Searches for coins, gold, gems, diamonds or crystals do not establish one universal currency for every edition. The official descriptions instead confirm stage resources, planet-clear rewards, upgrades, technology, modules, items, Operations and mobile in-app purchases. Identify the exact icon and label in the current platform, then farm the mode that awards that layer: stages for clear rewards, Operations for repeatable attempts, and difficulty or challenge clears for progression. Do not combine an in-stage build budget with permanent mobile resources or item rarity.
Resource boundary
Separate the progression layers before farming
| Layer | Confirmed role | Tracking rule |
|---|---|---|
| Stage resources | Pay for buildings, barriers or upgrades during a defense | Record start, spend and amount left at clear. |
| Planet or stage rewards | Official patch notes reference planet clear reward state | Compare the same stage, difficulty and first/repeat clear. |
| Technology and upgrades | Persistent research across four technology categories plus fortification | Farm the named requirement, not a generic coin total. |
| Modules and items | 80+ modules and 40+ items are advertised on Steam | Track grade, source and the tower job improved. |
| Mobile ads and IAP | Google Play and Apple list ads or in-app purchases | Prices and reward bundles must be checked inside the current regional store build. |
| Coins / gold / gems / diamonds / crystals | Not defined as one shared official vocabulary in the checked descriptions | Match the live label before using the term. |
Repeatable loop
Choose the mode that moves the blocked layer
A stage failure caused by a poor route is not repaired by farming an unrelated item. First ask whether the missing layer is stage budget, building enhancement, technology, module quality, item strength, level progress or access energy. Then record the exact reward screen after one repeatable run.
Version 1.0.7 expanded Operations to five plays per day and removed the date limit for selecting each Operation. That makes Operations a documented repeatable source, but it does not prove every platform has the same reward table or that one Operation is permanently best. Compare current result per attempt and per active minute.
Spending order
Fund a coherent tower plan
- Upgrade the route or tower that addresses the first repeatable leak, not every available red dot.
- Keep modules whose effect matches a building you actually deploy; rarity alone is not a strategy.
- Delay a fusion if its two component jobs are still needed separately on the current map.
- Compare permanent technology with a temporary stage purchase before spending a scarce resource.
- On mobile, verify whether an ad, energy refill or purchase changes the same resource you are trying to conserve.
Farm log
Use evidence that survives a balance patch
Create one row per run: platform, version, stage, mode, difficulty, landing point, duration, exact reward labels, module or item result and whether the clear was first-time. Screenshots should include the label rather than only a number. Three controlled runs reveal whether the payout is stable.
Do not publish a best gold farm when the tested reward was an item, stage budget or mobile energy. If an update changes a reward, keep the old row with its version and add the new result instead of silently changing the date on the article.
FAQ
Common questions
What are coins called in this game?
The checked official descriptions do not define one universal coin name across PC, mobile and console editions. Use the exact current interface label.
What should I farm first?
Farm the layer blocking progress: stage resources for a clear, a named technology requirement for research, or the current mode that awards the needed module or item.
Are gems and diamonds the same?
That equivalence is not established by the official store descriptions checked. Never merge counters only because guide sites use generic mobile terms.
Are Operations repeatable?
Official version 1.0.7 notes say each Operation can be selected without a date limit and played up to five times per day on that edition.
