Fast answer
The answer before the background
Use the official store for the device: Steam for Windows, Google Play for Android, Apple's App Store for iPhone or iPad, Nintendo eShop for Switch, and Microsoft Store for Xbox One or Series X|S. These are separate licenses and save environments; the checked listings do not promise cross-buy, shared purchases or universal cloud saves. The current Steam page lists Windows and Steam Deck Playable, not a native macOS build. Avoid generic download pages that hide the store and publisher identity.
Platform table
Choose the exact supported edition
| Device | Official route | Important boundary |
|---|---|---|
| Windows PC | Steam app 1487680 | Paid Jinthree Studio edition with Cloud, achievements and leaderboards. |
| Steam Deck | Steam edition marked Playable | Playable is not the same as Verified; review current compatibility details. |
| Android | Google Play package com.jinthreestudio.brokenuniverse | Free listing with ads and in-app purchases. |
| iPhone / iPad | Apple app ID 1662123399 | Designed for iPad and not verified for macOS on the checked page. |
| Nintendo Switch | Nintendo eShop release | Single-system play, cloud-save feature and 482 MB listing in the checked region. |
| Xbox | Microsoft Store | Xbox One and Series X|S with achievements and cloud saves. |
Edition choice
Paid PC and console are not identical to free mobile
Steam sells a premium copy, while Google Play and Apple show ads or in-app purchases. Nintendo and Xbox use their own console purchase terms. The central maze and tower design is shared, but reward cadence, energy, store offers, controls, version history and content timing can differ.
Choose the platform where the controls and save ownership matter most. Mouse input and the current Steam content suit detailed planning; Switch offers handheld and TV modes; mobile offers touch access; Xbox uses its console ecosystem. Do not buy on one store assuming the license appears in another.
Safe install
Preserve a clean update and save path
- Open the product from the platform holder's store rather than a search-result download button.
- Match Jinthree Studio, the package or store ID, supported device and current regional price.
- Use the same store account for reinstalling purchases and cloud data.
- Confirm enough storage and current system software before downloading the Switch or console edition.
- After changing devices, inspect progression before allowing a new local save to overwrite cloud data.
PC requirements
Read the current Steam-client note
Steam lists a 64-bit processor, 4 GB RAM, an OpenGL 3.0-capable 512 MB GPU and 1 GB storage as minimum game requirements. The historical line includes Windows 7 and above, but Steam separately notes that its client supports Windows 10 and later from January 2024. Plan around a supported current Windows environment.
The App Store's phrase Designed for iPad does not establish a native Mac edition, and the checked page explicitly says it is not verified for macOS. Use the named device listing instead of assuming every Apple purchase runs on desktop.
