Element TD 2, Legion TD 2 and Flash Element TD 2 are different games. Element TD 2 is Element Studios' standalone Steam defense game about six elements and tower combinations. Legion TD 2 is a competitive lane-defense game built around fighters, income and sending pressure to opponents. The older Element TD existed as Warcraft 3, StarCraft 2 and Dota 2 mods before the standalone sequel. Flash Element TD 2 is a separate Casual Collective browser game released on Kongregate in 2008, and its old Flash runtime problems are unrelated to the Steam sequel.

A shared phrase does not create shared saves, towers or support

Element Studios' store description calls the standalone game the result of 15 years of development and cites more than five million downloads across earlier mod platforms. That establishes lineage, not file compatibility. A Warcraft map, Dota build or old guide can explain the design history while using different towers, values, modes and controls.

The developer FAQ says the Dota 2 version is no longer supported because platform updates kept breaking it. It also says Reforged versions circulating under the Element TD name were not officially supported. Players seeking the maintained product should therefore use the Steam sequel rather than looking for a current patch to an old custom map.

Do not download a random executable to replace a retired browser runtime

  • The Kongregate record identifies Flash Element TD 2 as a 2008 Casual Collective title, not Element TD 2 on Steam.
  • A browser page failing after Flash retirement does not mean an APK or Windows installer is official.
  • Keep Flash strategies, maps and tower names on a separate page from the six-element Steam sequel.
