Fast answer
The answer before the background
The base Element TD 2 store page lists 26 maps. Its paths are designed around coverage and elemental tower choices. The paid Mazing Expansion changes the task: players place free Blocker tiles on bounded build areas to redirect enemies, and the DLC adds 10 Mazing maps, six co-op Mazing maps and a 14-mission campaign. A search for Element TD 2 custom maps should not be answered with an invented Workshop download; the verified official customization here is the Mazing mode supplied by the DLC.
Map types
Recognize whether the path is fixed or player-shaped
| Map context | Path control | Primary skill | Failure to avoid |
|---|---|---|---|
| Base map | Path is largely authored by the game | Place towers where several path segments share range | Building at the entrance and losing late firing time. |
| Mazing solo | Blockers redirect creeps inside map boundaries | Create a long legal route with repeated tower exposure | Making a long path that your chosen towers cannot cover efficiently. |
| Mazing co-op | Players share path and defense decisions | Assign building zones and tower jobs before the first major spend | Two players changing the route while the wave is already committed. |
| Campaign map | Objectives and unlocks can limit the solution | Read stars and mission restrictions first | Copying a survival maze into a mission with different rules. |
Best maze
Maximize damage time, not geometric length alone
- Place high-value damage where enemies pass on multiple segments rather than beside a single remote corner.
- Keep control effects upstream of concentrated damage so slowed enemies remain inside the kill zone.
- Leave a repair path for the strategy: a legal maze that forces awkward tower placement is not actually efficient.
- Test the route with fast and resistant waves, not only a slow normal wave.
- In co-op, agree who may move blockers. A last-second change can invalidate every range assumption.
Custom-map boundary
Do not confuse Mazing with a public map editor
The official Mazing description promises Blocker tiles, dedicated maps, a campaign, co-op maps and leaderboards. It does not advertise a Steam Workshop editor for publishing arbitrary base-game maps. Community screenshots, old mod maps and the original Warcraft or Dota versions can therefore appear in search results without being importable into the standalone sequel.
Before downloading any file labeled a custom map, look for an official Workshop link on the store page or a developer announcement for the current app ID. If neither exists, treat the file as unsupported. Quest Meridian links the verified DLC page instead of presenting a third-party archive as an official feature.
