Fast answer
The answer before the background
A useful hungry shark world tier list ranks complete shark-and-loadout packages for a stated job. Early progression rewards diet access and forgiving health; Gold or Gem farming rewards route coverage and chain consistency; Extinction rewards survival under random mutations; final quests may require a specific map interaction rather than maximum score. Grade acquisition cost, low-roll reliability, ability coverage and objective fit separately instead of publishing one permanent universal winner.
Scorecard
Give every rank a test condition
| Field | Example | Why it changes rank |
|---|---|---|
| Product | Current mobile or 2018 console | Roster and systems are different. |
| Mode | Normal ocean, boss or Extinction | Mutations and reward rules alter survival value. |
| Goal | Progress, Gold, Gems, Pearls, quest or score | The best route and equipment change. |
| Account | Owned sharks, pets, gadgets and map knowledge | A locked ceiling is not an accessible recommendation. |
| Version | Store build and event date | Balance and limited items can move. |
Shark grades
Separate floor, ceiling and access cost
A smaller shark with a predictable movement pattern can be the best recommendation for its tier even when it cannot eat the same targets as a later class. A special shark can have a high ceiling yet remain a poor next purchase if the account cannot fund its upgrades or the ability conflicts with the chosen map. Show both a reliable baseline route and the conditions behind any high score.
Apex comparisons require a mode label. Mecha Sharkjira's schematic gate, Shin Sharkjira's prerequisite, and Pearl prices make access part of the decision. A shark that clears ordinary oceans quickly may struggle when a mutation removes boost or health. Rank the response to common bad mutations, not only ideal damage footage.
Loadout grades
Pets and gadgets are multipliers on a route, not isolated winners
A health pet, resource pet, movement tool, map or offensive gadget has value only when its effect addresses the current failure. Two items that both improve an already-safe dimension may lose to one utility tool that keeps the route alive. State slot conflicts and edition availability beside every recommendation.
Dated lists should explain movement instead of silently rewriting letters. When a new shark or event item ships, add its access rule and test it against the same objectives. Community votes and videos are useful case studies, but they are not controlled comparisons unless the map, equipment, upgrades and run goal are visible.

There is no universal answer. Choose by product, mode, map, objective, owned equipment and acquisition cost.
What is the best shark for Extinction?
Prioritize health, reliable food access and an ability that remains useful under bad mutations; compare with the exact equipment available.
Is Gaia good?
Judge Gaia against a named map and objective, then compare access cost, survivability and ability coverage with alternatives on the same account.

Only after checking the current store version, newly released sharks, balance changes and event-limited equipment.
