Hungry Shark World guide
Ubisoft's 3D Hungry Shark sequel, with separate sharks, size tiers, maps, pets, gear, missions, currencies, and platform questions from Evolution.
Current answer
What players need to know now.
Hungry Shark World is Ubisoft's single-player arcade survival game and the larger 3D sequel to Hungry Shark Evolution. The live mobile product currently lists 43 shark species across eight size tiers, four large ocean maps, equipment, pets, quests, Extinction Mode and Apex sharks. A separate paid console edition launched in 2018 with more than 20 sharks and its own missions, bosses and progression. Identify mobile, console or Microsoft's newer PC listing before reusing an unlock, map or roster answer.

Progression model
Diet gates, missions and permanent resources move the roster forward
| Layer | Decision | Reliable rule |
|---|---|---|
| Shark size tier | What the current shark can eat | Move up when the next diet gate opens a safer route, not only when one stat bar is full. |
| Map and mission | Where the next objective belongs | Learn landmarks and read the exact shark quest before starting a collection run. |
| Equipment and pets | Which failure the loadout fixes | Choose survival, movement, score or farming utility for a named objective. |
| Extinction and Apex | Late-game mutation survival | Earn Pearls legitimately and keep mode advice separate from ordinary oceans. |
First sessions
Six low-regret decisions
- 1
Learn one mobile ocean's food routes and safe gaps before buying every map or cosmetic.
- 2
Complete visible shark quests while levelling instead of treating every run as an unstructured score attempt.
- 3
Spend Gold on the shark and upgrades that open the next diet tier; save Gems for a specific bottleneck.
- 4
Use pets and gadgets to solve one problem—health, mobility, score or resource collection—rather than copying a decorative set.
- 5
Back up mobile progress with the supported cloud option before reinstalling or changing devices.
- 6
Check whether a guide is for the current mobile service or the 2018 console edition before following it.
Quest Meridian verifies products, compatibility, updates and recovery rules through platform-owner stores and Ubisoft support. Detailed roster, quest and location history uses a dated community wiki as a secondary source.
