The answer before the background

Our recommendation

A useful Tower Tactics Liberation tier list must be scoped to a deck, patch, DLC set and goal. The official store documents more than 150 cards, more than 120 trinkets and 18 decks in the base game, while both expansions add more cards and trinkets. That makes one undated S-to-D list misleading. Rank a tower by how reliably it stabilizes early waves, scales after fusion, covers the run's enemy traits, and fits the mana and support plan of the selected deck.

Score the job before the name

JobS-tier evidenceDowngrade signal
Early stabilizerAffordable, useful immediately and easy to improve with repeat drawsConsumes setup without stopping early leaks.
Crowd controlKeeps several targets inside damage windows or damages groups consistentlyOnly performs when a rare trinket completes the interaction.
Elite / boss damageScales through upgrades and remains effective against durable targetsExcellent paper damage but too slow or expensive to deploy.
UtilitySolves cloaking, armor, positioning, slow, stun or another named failureDuplicates an effect the deck already supplies.
Economy / drawCreates more usable choices without collapsing the boardAdds cards or cost but delays the defensive breakpoint.

Use one repeatable worksheet for every candidate

  • Record the deck, Ascension, owned DLC, first sector route and starting offerings.
  • Count how many draws and how much mana are required before the tower performs its intended job.
  • Track the first leak, the enemy property that caused it, and whether another card had to rescue the board.
  • Compare level-one usefulness with the level-three payoff; fusion value matters only if the deck can reach it reliably.
  • Run the same candidate without its best trinket. A tower that remains functional has a higher floor than a showcase combo.
  • Separate campaign, Celestial Dawn Survival and Astral Siege results because those modes have different economies and progression rules.

A smaller coherent package usually outranks a pile of individually strong cards

The store describes deck creation as choosing towers and spells that complement one another. That means tier placement is partly relational. An expensive boss answer can be excellent in a deck with mana support and weak in a deck already struggling to cover the first waves. A low-cost tower can rank highly when repeated copies fuse consistently, but fall when it dilutes a spell-led plan.

Before adding a reward, ask whether it improves the current tower package, supplies a missing counter, or merely looks powerful in isolation. Skipping a card can preserve draw quality. Re-rank after a balance update: version 1.18 changed Luck-related trinkets and added Lucky Dagger, while 1.18.3 changed expansion-specific content. A screenshot without patch and DLC scope is not a current tier list.

Editorial boundary

This page supplies a ranking method, not a fabricated official tier. Asraworks publishes systems and balance changes; it does not publish one universal current ordering of all towers.

Common questions

What is the best tower in Tower Tactics: Liberation?

There is no defensible universal answer. Choose the tower that covers the selected deck's weakest matchup at a mana and draw cost the run can support.

Should DLC cards be mixed into the same tier list?

Only if the list clearly says which expansion and mode are active. Celestial Dawn and Astral Siege add different content and should also have mode-specific rankings.

Why does fusion change a tower ranking?

Repeated cards can improve a tower, so draw frequency, deck size and the usefulness of early copies determine whether the high-level payoff is realistic.

How often should a tier list be updated?

Recheck it after balance patches or pool changes, and retain the patch, deck, Ascension and DLC scope with every ranking.
