Fast answer
The answer before the background
Creeper World 4 buildings are easier to understand by job. Towers generate energy and form the local packet network; Pylons make long connections; Miners harvest energy or Bluite terrain; Refineries process Greenar; Terps reshape terrain; Porters move ware containers; Micro Rifts shorten distant delivery; Beacons support void access. Walls and named objects such as the Delegate, Damper, Stash, Obelisk or custom Archon can be terrain, objective or scripted units rather than normal universal buildings.
Network
Towers and Pylons solve different distances
A Tower link is the everyday economic grid. Connected green coverage adds energy, and the same network moves construction and ammunition packets. A Pylon costs more but spans a much longer gap and transports packets faster, making it valuable across empty or hostile terrain. Neither replaces production: a fast highway attached to a weak economy only delivers the deficit sooner.
Micro Rifts connect separated points once supplied with Arg. They are useful when a front is too distant for acceptable packet travel or when terrain makes a continuous line vulnerable. A Beacon extends buildability into void-related situations, while a Porter transports a selected ware in a container. Each solves a specific logistics problem; placing every special structure by habit wastes resources.
Support
Choose a structure because of its input and output
| Structure | Primary job | Common mistake |
|---|---|---|
| Tower | Energy coverage and packet link | Expanding into danger before the line is defended. |
| Pylon | Long, fast network segment | Expecting it to create energy. |
| Miner | Energy or Bluite collection on valid terrain | Ignoring the selected operating mode. |
| Refinery | Harvest Greenar for Factory processing | Building without a Greenar source. |
| Terp | Raise or lower terrain | Terraforming while weapons starve. |
| Porter | Carry ware to a remote point | Sending the wrong ware or leaving it unsupported. |
| Micro Rift | Link distant packet networks | Forgetting the Arg construction requirement. |
Map scope
A named object is not automatically a player unit
The Collector panel, Delegate, Damper, Decon, Neutron Reactor, Obelisk, Stash and Walls appear in particular missions or custom systems. Their behavior is defined by the scenario and may be controlled through 4RPL. Open the in-map information and objective panel before applying a campaign assumption.
Deleting a movable or buildable unit removes its current investment and may release or lose stored material depending on the unit. Preserve a save before experimenting with irreplaceable scenario objects. For a custom unit, the author documentation is the only reliable source for upgrades, network connection and destruction behavior.
FAQ
Common questions
Do Pylons generate energy?
No. They provide long, fast packet connections; Towers and eligible Miners provide normal energy production.
What does a Micro Rift do?
It links distant points in the network, reducing long packet travel once the required Arg-funded structures are active.
Can every unit be moved?
No. Weapons are commonly movable, while structures and scenario objects have their own rules.
Why does a custom unit behave differently?
Custom maps can define their own units and scripts, so use that map's description and Info panel.
