Fast answer
The answer before the background
Rogue tower bosses appear at progression checks within a standard run, whose normal victory line is wave 45. The January 2023 Rogue Tower Forever update added Endless Mode after a victorious run, with enemies gaining health-layer, speed and economy pressure as levels continue. Single, double, triple and quadruple defense change lane count; March of the Monsters and Splitsville add separate challenge rules.
Mode ledger
Do not mix the finish line with the record chase
| Mode | Defining pressure | Guide should report |
|---|---|---|
| Single defense | One route and simplest economy split | Standard win or Endless level. |
| Double / triple / quadruple | More routes and later guaranteed splits | Lane count, tower package and first weak branch. |
| March of the Monsters | Monster cards and double player card draws | Chosen monster buffs and resulting counter. |
| Splitsville | Path splits whenever possible | Coverage plan and lane funding. |
| Endless | Post-win enemy scaling | Reached level, version, mode and full build. |
Boss plan
Treat every Ooogie as a test of a different missing job
The original Ooogie appears as an early boss reference in the community data, while March of the Monsters added several new Ooogie variants and many new monsters. Bosses can emphasize speed, defensive layers, spawning or other pressure. Prepare by checking the approaching enemy information and the damage tracker before the boss reaches the final choke.
Do not sell all crowd coverage for a single-target boss solution if the surrounding wave remains dangerous. Place sustained specialists where the boss stays in range, use target priority deliberately, and preserve enough finishing damage near the core. A screenshot of one Grim Ooogie clear cannot prove the same answer against every variant.
Endless
Scaling converts small inefficiencies into a hard ceiling
The official Endless announcement states that enemies gain progressively larger health, armor and shield bonuses, speed increases, lower Gold drops and reduced University research odds. That means a stable standard build can fail later without any one tower becoming 'bad.' Economy, global research, path saturation and target discipline all compound.
When comparing highest level claims, require mode, patch, card pool, path shape and whether the run used a special branch or modification. The ordinary ending is still a valid completion target. Endless is an optional stress test, and a record should not replace a clear beginner route.
