Boss and enemy spoilers: this page names the four chapter guardians and optional secret encounters.

The answer before the background

Our recommendation

The main loop hero bosses are the Lich in chapter one, the Priestess in chapter two, the Hunter with his hounds in chapter three, and Omega in the fourth chapter. Filling the boss meter by placing cards summons the chapter guardian at the campfire. Stop before the meter completes, clear dangerous campfire-adjacent tiles, equip for the boss's actual mechanic and enter with healing and a build that does not depend only on ordinary-enemy performance.

Control the moment the guardian appears

  • Watch the meter as every placed card advances it.
  • Reserve useful space around the campfire before the final placement.
  • Remove or avoid camp-adjacent effects that make the boss approach worse.
  • Finish the equipment comparison and trait choice before completing the meter.
  • Decide whether the expedition goal is a boss kill or resource return.
  • Do not assume Watchtower support replaces a boss-ready build.

Each guardian exposes a different weakness

GuardianPreparation questionEditorial boundary
LichCan the build remove his surrounding advantage and survive the first real damage check?Chapter-one advice should not assume every late camp unlock.
PriestessCan the build handle defensive summons and repeated protection?Ordinary crowd clear is not automatically effective.
HunterCan the build manage the boss and hound pressure without wasting damage?Target flow and durability both matter.
OmegaCan the package function when a valued ability or stat is constrained?Final-chapter details need a spoiler warning.

Record type, source tile and soul status

Ordinary enemies determine equipment, cards and material drops. A reliable enemy entry records the tile or transformation that creates it, chapter availability, abilities, soul classification and the build interaction that failed. Names such as Dark Slime, Vampire Mage, Prime Matter, Harpy or Goblin are not interchangeable farming targets.

Secret bosses have special placement conditions and are unlikely to appear in normal progression. Do not insert their requirements into a beginner answer without a clear spoiler boundary. A video title alone is not sufficient evidence; reproduce the exact map state in the same released version.

Common questions

How many main chapter bosses are there?

Four, one for each story chapter: Lich, Priestess, Hunter and Omega.

How does a boss spawn?

Placed cards fill the chapter boss meter; completion brings the guardian to the campfire area.

Does the Lich's Palace matter?

Yes. Campfire-adjacent space and removal options are part of chapter-one preparation.

Are secret bosses required?

They are optional discovery encounters with special conditions, not the normal route to clear the four chapters.
