Fast answer
The answer before the background
Loop hero equipment should be judged by the full stat package, not color or item level alone. Higher rarity usually adds more bonus lines while giving less of a concentrated main stat, so a lower-rarity piece can be better when it supplies the exact defense, damage, attack speed, evasion, vampirism or class stat the run needs. Warrior, Rogue and Necromancer use different slot sets, and Arsenal adds a class-dependent extra slot with a trade-off to dropped gear.
Comparison
Use a three-question replacement test
| Test | Keep the old item when… | Replace when… |
|---|---|---|
| Primary job | Its main stat is the build's current bottleneck | The new piece fixes that bottleneck better |
| Secondary lines | Every line supports the same plan | The total useful package improves |
| Encounter | Its focused stat counters the next boss or route | The route now demands a different defense or damage axis |
Class slots
The same item language does not mean the same build
Warrior equipment can provide conventional weapon, armor, shield and ring decisions. Rogue uses its own dual-weapon and trophy-centered flow. Necromancer equipment introduces skeleton level, maximum skeletons, summon quality and magic shield concerns. Search results that compare one orange item across all three classes remove the mechanic that gives the number meaning.
Arsenal can add a helmet, amulet or another class-specific slot while reducing dropped gear stats. Treat it as a build rule, not free inventory. The extra slot is useful only when its class effect exceeds the cost and the deck can support the golden card choice.
Inventory and potions
Protect useful gear before the row overflows
Items that move beyond the inventory limit are discarded as new drops arrive. Locking items was added in the major 1.1 update on PC, but controls differ by edition. Review the row during a pause rather than discovering after another battle that a useful comparison piece disappeared.
Potions are an automatic survival system linked to camp progression, not a generic wallet. Their capacity and healing can interact with buildings, tiles and traits. Record the complete setup before claiming that a potion, Witch Hut or Strong Aftertaste route behaves identically in every run.
FAQ
Common questions
Is orange gear always best?
No. More bonus lines do not guarantee that the package supports the class or encounter better than a focused lower-rarity item.
What is pure damage?
It is a separate damage line designed to bypass ordinary defensive calculations; verify the current tooltip and enemy interaction.
Why do items disappear?
New drops push older inventory entries toward overflow. Pause, compare and lock important pieces where the edition supports it.
Can you sell equipment?
Expedition overflow and material conversion are not a conventional shop sale. Use the current interface rather than a guide for another edition.
